Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will support project managers in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from inception to completion. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Responsibilities
- Ability to manage more than 2 projects at one time and have an ambitious approach to balancing workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and homeowners.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project workflows and communication.
- Proficient in project reporting software, MS Office, and ability to read blueprints (Bluebeam), schematics, and contracts to verify project specifications and compliance with design intent.
- Experience with permits.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Monitor construction site activities to ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control measures, and project timelines.
- Assist in tracking project progress with progress reports through regular site visits, communication with subcontractors, and homeowners.
- Support the review of construction contracts, change orders, and scope modifications to maintain project scope integrity.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project activities, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and other critical records for seamless project management.
- Assist in maintaining cost control data.
- Maintain mutually satisfying long-term relationships with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
- Perform various duties in support of the Project Manager (PM).
- Assist the PM in development of a schedule of values and estimate listing and maintenance.
Experience
- Prior experience or internship in construction management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant site experience is highly valued.
- Familiarity with construction estimating tools and software.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling principles and techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints (Bluebeam), schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of contracts, change order processes, and construction site safety protocols.
