Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, nurturing, and professional Childcare Provider to care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old in a safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate environment. This position goes beyond supervision by focusing on early learning, developmental growth, school readiness, and positive social-emotional development. The ideal candidate will support children in reaching developmental milestones, prepare children for successful transition into Pre-Kindergarten and school settings, and maintain strong communication with families and coworkers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children.
- Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Plan and execute weekly lesson plans aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals and early learning standards.
- Prepare children academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally for transition into Pre-Kindergarten and school settings.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s developmental progress and learning needs.
- Provide individualized assistance and support to help children meet developmental milestones.
- Conduct and participate in parent-teacher conferences and maintain ongoing communication with families regarding children’s progress, behavior, and daily activities.
- Maintain daily communication with parents through verbal updates, written reports, or approved communication systems.
- Assist children with feeding, toileting, diaper changing, hygiene routines, and other caregiving responsibilities.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and sanitation according to Texas Minimum Standards, including required cleaning and disinfecting duties at least twice daily.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and compliance with childcare regulations.
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively with coworkers and leadership team members.
- Promote positive behavior guidance techniques and age-appropriate classroom management.
- Participate in required staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and annual training requirements.
- Follow all Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Regulation Minimum Standards policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
- Ensure no personal cell phone use while actively supervising children or inside classroom environments except for approved emergency or work-related purposes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development from infancy through school age.
- Ability to observe and assess developmental progress in children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and coworkers.
- Ability to lift, carry, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and professionalism.
- Must be willing to change diapers and assist with toileting needs.
- Must complete and maintain all required Texas childcare trainings and certifications annually.
- Must pass required background checks in accordance with Texas Minimum Standards.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
