American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1.5 years of ICU experience and experience in a large 20+ bed ICU.

Medical ICU (MICU) unit within a large, 1,266-bed short-term acute care Magnet and Level I Trauma teaching hospital

Patient ratio of 1:2

Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week

Every other weekend required
-
Floating within scope required; may float to med/surg areas within the ICU service line
-
No on-call required

Charting on Epic (experience required)
-
Common procedures include pressor support, ETT, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care
-
Sterile technique procedures include line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, chest tube management, bronchoscopy, and phlebotomy
-
Preferred experience includes CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, and MTP Level 1 Rapid Transfuser

Active MO RN license or compact license (MO license required at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted with notation)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required; MICU experience preferred

Candidates with fewer than 2 years of experience must have Level I Trauma Center experience

Experience in a 20+ bed ICU required

Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management required

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation

Block scheduling is not available for this position
-
Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
-
Travel RNs may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required

Scrub color required: Navy Blue

Parking passes are available for purchase through the facility's Public Safety department; costs and availability vary by lot and shift; night shift workers may park at no charge in employee parking
