Shift Details:
2x10's clinic, 0700-1730.
Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology/Cardiology RN
Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:
- Actively communicate with monitor person to ensure procedure activities and times are documented.
- Administer medications, including anticoagulants, contrast, vasoactive, and emergency drugs.
- Maintain sterile technique and assist with interventional and catheter-based procedures.
- Provide and monitor moderate sedation, including vital signs, hemodynamics, oxygenation, ventilation, and level of consciousness.
- Recognize and respond promptly to complications, including arrhythmias, bleeding, contrast reactions, stroke, and cardiac arrest.
- Collaborate with physicians and Rad Techs to manage contrast allergies and patient safety.
- Verify ASA classification and consult anesthesia for ASA IV or higher.
- Serve as patient advocate and anticipate interventionalist needs.
- Function as scrub technologist when assigned; prepare sterile instruments, catheters, guidewires, sheaths, and embolic materials.
- Demonstrate knowledge of vascular anatomy, device sizing, catheter selection, and procedural workflow.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted OR license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
At least one (1) year/s experience in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or IR is required.
At least three years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab, conscious sedation training, monitor role experience.
Current BLS, ACLS certification; Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale), IV certification.
Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
