The Role
Creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with experience developing compelling visual content for a publishing/media company. Skilled in designing print magazines, advertisements, editorial layouts, marketing materials, and digital assets that align with brand standards while engaging readers and advertisers alike. Adept at balancing creativity with production requirements, managing multiple deadlines, and collaborating with editorial, sales, and marketing teams to deliver polished, press-ready publications and assets. Passionate about visual storytelling and creating designs that elevate both the reader experience and the overall brand. You'll report to our Art Director and work alongside a small, tenured team of editors, fellow graphic designers, ad coordinators, digital and social specialists, and sales reps.
What You'll Do
- Design and produce print publications from concept through final production, including document setup, page layout, ad placement, feature and department design, photo editing, prepress file preparation, printer uploads and preparing assets for digital use.
- Collaborate with editors to translate stories into engaging visual layouts.
- Stay current on design trends, typography and emerging creative tools.
- Create digital editions of publications using platforms such as Issuu.
- Design for print and digital advertising, including display ads, banner ads and website graphics.
- Work closely with the sales team and ad coordinator to ensure advertising materials meet client specifications and publication requirements.
- Design media kits, sales collateral and other marketing materials.
- Ensure brand consistency and adherence to publication standards across all design projects.
- Review proofs and prepare press-ready files to ensure the highest quality production.
- Support special projects, promotional campaigns and event materials as needed.
- Organize and maintain project files and archives.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently, using sound judgment to prioritize work and seek input when needed.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 2–4 years of professional graphic design experience in print magazine layout.
- A bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts or a related field.
- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud — InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
- Bonus points for HTML/CSS experience, but not a requirement.
- Sharp written and verbal communication skills, paired with genuine creative instincts.
- An organized, detail-oriented approach that holds up even when multiple deadlines stack up in the same week.
· Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and prioritize effectively.
