Position Description:
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic, Get Kids Ready Lead Teachers to support early learning in our classrooms and help create joyful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences at the Sauk Prairie Early Learning Center. The ideal candidate is a team player looking for a career in early childhood, who is passionate about working with young children, and committed to helping children grow through play, exploration, and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences aligned with WMELS and the Pyramid Model framework.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
- Uphold Wisconsin Group Child Care Licensing rules and regulations
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
- Using the Wisconsin Pyramid Model framework; support positive child guidance, independence, and self-regulation to build strong social-emotional foundations.
- Build trusting relationships with children and families to support consistent communication and collaboration.
- Prioritize tasks and situations to meet needs of children and environment appropriately
- Collaborate effectively with team members, families, and children.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including Pyramid Model training and coaching.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in any field of study required (Early Childhood Education preferred).
- Willingness to complete Pyramid Model training and other required continuing education.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn Wisconsin licensing requirements and WMELS.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), Bloodborne Pathogen, and Abusive Head Trauma prevention training
- Willingness to complete AHT/SIDS/Mandated Reporter training and Wisconsin Registry registration

District Description:
The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes, and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1350 students.
