Duties
- Monitor and control access to the facility using access control systems and surveillance equipment
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security risks or breaches
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fires, or security threats, utilizing first aid and CPR skills when necessary
- Perform background checks on visitors or contractors to ensure safety compliance
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security logs for all activities and incidents
- Operate security systems such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and intrusion detection devices effectively
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders during incidents or investigations
- Enforce security regulations and company policies while providing excellent customer service to visitors and staff
Skills
- Proven experience in security roles, military service, law enforcement or related fields
- Knowledge of security systems, surveillance technology, access control systems, and operational management tools such as Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of physical security principles and emergency response procedures including first aid and CPR certification
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for equipment or supplies
- Excellent conflict management, communication, report writing, and writing skills for documentation purposes
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams or perform team management tasks effectively
- Familiarity with compliance standards related to security regulations and performing background checks
- Capable of handling high-pressure situations with professionalism and clarity
