In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install fire sprinkler systems.
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble piping using hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment in compliance with NFPA standards and ASME codes.
- Perform welding tasks including MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and pipe welding to secure piping systems effectively.
- Fabricate pipe components through bending, soldering, and assembly to meet project specifications.
- Install sprinkler piping systems using pipefitting techniques while adhering to safety regulations and construction site protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing sprinkler systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including proper rigging practices and power tool safety protocols, to maintain a secure work environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, pipe welding, and welding techniques.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing principles, pipeline installation, and tube bending processes.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, pipe cutters, threaders, soldering irons, and power tools safely.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings for pipe installation and assembly within construction or manufacturing settings.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards for fire sprinkler systems along with ASME codes & standards for piping fabrication.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for measurements and layout work on-site.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques for lifting heavy pipes or equipment safely on construction sites.
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocol adherence during installation projects.
- Capable of interpreting schematics related to fire sprinkler systems and plumbing layouts for precise execution.
