Anytime Fitness is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Club Manager who's passionate about health and fitness and loves inspiring others.
The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, and a true team player—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys connecting with people both inside and outside the club. You'll play a key role in driving membership growth, creating an exceptional member experience, and supporting a fun, high-energy team culture.
This is not a traditional desk job or a position with a fixed schedule. We are looking for someone who is highly flexible and willing to support multiple Anytime Fitness locations throughout the Chicagoland area as business needs arise.
Successful candidates enjoy variety and understand that no two weeks look exactly the same. Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to help where needed are essential to succeeding in this role.
What You'll Do
Membership Sales
Use our proven system to help guests overcome obstacles and start their fitness journey. When done right, it doesn't feel like "sales"—you're simply helping people take that first step toward better health.
Club Marketing
Think creatively! From community events to social media and grassroots marketing, you'll help spread the word about our club and what makes us special.
Community Involvement
Represent Anytime Fitness at Chamber events, community partnerships, and local initiatives—including occasional evenings and weekends.
Networking & Wellness Outreach
Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to promote wellness and generate new membership opportunities.
Team Support
Work alongside managers, trainers, and staff to create a positive, accountable, and member-focused culture. Assist with club operations and provide coverage at multiple locations when needed.
Club Cleanliness & Maintenance
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming club environment at all times. Cleaning is an essential part of this position and is expected of every team member. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of equipment, restrooms, lobbies, floors, windows, trash removal, and other tasks necessary to ensure our members enjoy a safe, clean, and exceptional fitness experience.

- Comfortable making phone calls and speaking with prospective members
- Passion for fitness and helping others succeed
- Sales-minded with the ability to confidently ask for the membership
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Must be at least 18 years old
Schedule & Travel Requirements (Essential)
Schedule flexibility is an essential requirement of this position.
Applicants must be available to work a flexible schedule, including:
- Weekdays
- Evenings
- Saturdays
- Occasional special events as needed
Schedules may change based on staffing needs, club events, vacations, and business demands.
Travel is also an essential part of this role.
The Assistant Club Manager will be expected to travel and provide coverage at Anytime Fitness locations within approximately a 2-hour radius of Hoffman Estates. This may include covering shifts, assisting with staffing shortages, supporting club events, training, and helping neighboring clubs when needed.
Applicants should be comfortable driving between club locations and have reliable transportation.
Staffed Hours (Typical)
- Monday-Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Staffed hours may change based on seasonality and business needs.
Position Details
- Part-Time
- Hourly pay plus commissions and performance bonuses
- This is a long-term position and is not seasonal or temporary.
Important: If you're uncomfortable introducing yourself to new people, making outreach calls, discussing memberships, or working a flexible schedule that includes travel between clubs, this position is likely not the right fit.
