Air Medical Communications Specialist – Full-Time Night Shift

Starting Pay: $25.00–$30.00/hour DOE + Night Shift Differential
About the Role
Vision Med Flight is seeking a Full-Time Air Medical Communications Specialist to join our team in Surprise, Arizona. As the central point of contact for flight operations, you will coordinate communications, support medical flight crews, and help ensure every mission is conducted safely and efficiently.
This position is ideal for someone who remains calm under pressure, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a growing organization, we are looking for team members who are passionate about supporting life-saving operations and helping build a strong communications center from the ground up.
Previous air medical experience is highly preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with a strong communications or dispatch background.
Schedule
- Full-Time Night Shift
- 12-hour shifts (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
- Rotating schedule
- Must be able to report to the communications center as scheduled
- Ability to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary communications link between dispatch, flight crews, hospitals, and medical personnel
- Coordinate flight operations utilizing Flight Vector and related systems
- Assist crews with navigation and location verification using mile marker maps and rural geographic references
- Manage high call volumes professionally and efficiently
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely communication during critical operations
- Build strong working relationships with flight crews, medical crews, hospital staff, and operational partners
- Support operational and logistical needs during overnight hours
- Document operational information accurately and completely
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in dispatch, communications, emergency services, healthcare operations, public safety, or a related field
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Highly Preferred
- Previous air medical communications or air medical dispatch experience
- Experience utilizing Flight Vector or similar aviation communication software
- Experience with EMS, fire, law enforcement, transfer center, or public safety communications
- Experience navigating mile marker maps and rural locations

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
- Additional $1.00/hour Night Shift Differential
