Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a motivated full time Laboratory Operations Technician to support the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) – Critical Reagents Lab at our client site in Andover, MA. Schedule: This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday on 8-hour shifts, with flexible starting time between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
The PDM group is responsible for the development and implementation of a wide range of bioanalytical assays that support drug discovery and development programs. Efficient and well-organized laboratory operations are essential to enabling this scientific work. This role will partner closely with the lab manager and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless lab operations, allowing scientific staff to focus on research activities that drive drug discovery forward. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general laboratory organization and cleanliness
- Stock laboratory supplies, reagents, and buffers across multiple labs
- Track, deliver, and manage inventory of consumables and reagents
- Perform routine monthly equipment maintenance, including: defrosting freezers and supporting maintenance of plate washers, plate readers, Gyrolab systems, and Waters HPLC
- Coordinate supply ordering and inventory management
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and distribution of laboratory materials
- Support the transfer and quality control of critical reagents to offsite storage
- Partner with lab staff to ensure operational needs are met efficiently and on time
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with an interest in laboratory science, or BA or Certificate in Biotechnology or a related field with 2+ years of experience
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices in a non-regulated environment is preferred
- Experience supporting laboratory operations or inventory management is a plus
- Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and workflows is preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast paced setting
