JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Technician and Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization procedures while providing exceptional support to our dental practitioners. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical skills with patient care, contributing to the overall success of our dental practice.
DUTIES:
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Assist our hygienist.
- Assist dentist during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics and general dentistry, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready.
- Manage dental x-ray procedures, including taking and developing X-ray images while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Operate and maintain dental equipment such as 3D scanners, dental chairs, and medical imaging devices to support clinical procedures.
- Document medical records accurately using patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and managing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently and adhering to infection control standards in accordance with healthcare infection prevention guidelines.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred for our dental assistant opening. Some experience needed for sterile tech.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, and anatomy enhances your ability to assist confidently during procedures.
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is required to ensure safety standards are met consistently.
- Experience performing dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and supporting the dentist.
- Strong understanding of dental equipment operation and maintenance will enable you to support clinical workflows seamlessly.
