Community Integrated Services (CIS) is seeking a full-time Float Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support to adults across multiple day program and residential locations within an assigned geographic area.
This is an ideal role for someone who is adaptable, dependable, and enjoys variety in their workday. As a Float DSP, you will step in to provide coverage for call-outs and other unplanned staffing needs, helping ensure the individuals we support continue to receive consistent care and supervision.
What You'll Do
As a Float DSP, you may work with different consumers, programs, and teams throughout your assigned area. Responsibilities include:
- Provide direct support and supervision in accordance with each consumer's Individual Service Agreement (ISA), behavior support plan, medical protocols, and other support documentation.
- Support consumers in working toward their individual goals, building independence, developing daily living skills, and participating in their communities.
- Assist with activities of daily living, which may include personal care, hygiene, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, housekeeping, shopping, money management, communication, mobility, and other individualized support needs.
- Provide opportunities for recreational, social, vocational, educational, and community-based activities.
- Support consumers in making choices while respecting their rights, dignity, privacy, preferences, and personal interests.
- Learn new routines, consumer needs, ISAs, and behavior plans quickly when assigned to unfamiliar programs or shifts.
- Follow established behavior support strategies and respond appropriately to behavioral or emergency situations.
- Transport or accompany consumers to appointments, activities, employment, day programs, and other approved destinations as assigned.
- Administer or assist with medications when trained and authorized to do so.
- Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, functioning, or overall well-being.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, scheduling staff, and members of each consumer's support team.
- Provide coverage for staffing vacancies and call-outs at different CIS locations throughout your assigned geographic area.
What We're Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least one year of experience in a human services or related field.
- Comfortable working with different consumers, programs, routines, and support needs.
- Flexible and willing to accept assignments at different locations, including same-day or short-notice coverage within the assigned area.
- Able and willing to provide personal care and physical assistance as needed.
- Able and willing to support consumers who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
- Basic reading, writing, computer, communication, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance.
- Working cell phone and access to email.
- Ability to complete required training within 90 days of hire and maintain required annual recertifications.
- Ability to pass required background screening and TB testing.
Schedule & Assignments
This is a full-time Float DSP position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. You will provide coverage in both day program and residential settings throughout your assigned geographic area. Frequent travel between CIS locations is required.
