Job Summary:
Belcan is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Indianapolis. This role provides engineering support across production, process development, technical documentation, manufacturing planning, and continuous improvement activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting manufacturing processes within aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated environments. Opportunities exist for engineers with backgrounds in production support, process engineering, manufacturing planning, engineering documentation, routing development, or continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues and implementing process improvements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, routings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Support technical package updates, engineering changes, and manufacturing workflow activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Program teams to support production objectives.
- Conduct production floor process reviews, data collection activities, and manufacturing assessments.
- Support manufacturing planning activities including routing updates, disposition implementation, and process documentation maintenance.
- Partner with shop floor personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Support project and program execution while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Provide regular status updates and technical support for assigned manufacturing engineering activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, production engineering, manufacturing planning, process engineering, or related engineering functions.
- Experience working within aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production support, engineering documentation, and process controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace, turbine engine, propulsion, or aviation manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting legacy products, sustainment programs, or production reactivation initiatives.
- Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing routings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting engineering change implementation and technical package updates.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter, MultiCAPP, Optegra, SAP, PLM, ERP, MES, or similar manufacturing systems.
- Experience interacting directly with shop floor operations and cross-functional manufacturing teams.
- Knowledge of process planning, manufacturing workflows, picture sheets, manufacturing instructions, or process modeling.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Project or program management experience is a plus.
