Join our team as an Assistant Railroad Bridge Supervisor and play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of railroad infrastructure. In this dynamic position, you will assist in overseeing bridge maintenance, construction activities, and safety protocols across construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on civil infrastructure projects, utilizing heavy equipment and construction skills to support the seamless movement of freight and passenger trains. Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising the inspection, maintenance, and repair of railroad bridges to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with crews to facilitate safe operations during bridge upgrades, repairs, or new installations.
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to support construction activities.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting, use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction machinery.
- Assist with documentation of daily activities, safety inspections, incident reports, and compliance records related to construction projects.
- Working in coordination with Bridge Superintendent
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks in a construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of rail construction techniques.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations governing commercial truck driving and safety standards on construction sites.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely in outdoor work environments.
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures for work zones to ensure safety during project execution.
- Construction experience with a focus on rail bridge projects; outdoor work experience is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently and work effectively as part of a team.
- Working Knowledge of FRA Part 213/214 preferred
- Timber and steel bridge experience
- Experience with general track safety, fall protection and rigging
- Class A CDL REQUIRED
