Seeking a CNC Machine operator in local Santa Cruz area. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will independently set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce complex, high-tolerance parts. You will interpret blueprints, perform rigorous quality inspections, and ensure all production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Objectives
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set up CNC machining equipment, including lathe and milling machines, with appropriate tooling and fixtures.
- Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
- Perform manual machining tasks when necessary to complement CNC operations or make adjustments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspection results.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC programming
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting complex technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling setups, and machine calibration.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming tools.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Experience with manual machining processes using hand tools, grinders, lathes, and power tools.
Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
