AmeriQual is looking for a motivated, hands-on 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and help keep plant operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this role, you will coordinate daily maintenance activities, support production needs, coach technicians, and drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
· Lead and support 2nd shift maintenance technicians across production, utilities, and facility operations.
· Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance work, including reactive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
· Respond quickly to equipment issues to help minimize downtime and keep production moving.
· Partner with Production, Quality, and other teams to troubleshoot equipment and process challenges.
· Support preventive maintenance and work order management through the site CMMS system.
· Promote and enforce safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
· Provide hands-on troubleshooting support and use root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
· Coach, train, and develop maintenance technicians while providing clear performance feedback.
· Maintain strong shift communication through pass-downs, work updates, and issue escalation.
· Monitor parts usage and partner with appropriate teams to help maintain critical spare parts availability.
· Build a team-oriented culture focused on ownership, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Assist with process improvements and reliability initiatives as directed by maintenance leadership.
· Ensure maintenance activities, repairs, and compliance requirements are properly documented.
What We’re Looking For
· Associate degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
· At least 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2 or more years in a lead or supervisory role.
· Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
· Experience in a regulated environment; food manufacturing experience preferred.
· Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
· Understanding of GMP, OSHA, and safety practices.
· Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to drive ownership by leading by example.
· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
· Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills across all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This role requires regular sitting, walking, standing, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive hand use, and reaching with hands and arms. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. The position may involve intricate repairs, work in confined spaces, and work on or around complex machinery and packaging systems requiring strong manual dexterity. Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus are required. Work is performed in a facility with standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions, and nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
