Job Summary
The Tennis Shop Desk Staff is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members and guests, managing court reservations, and supporting the sales and operations of the tennis shop. This role assists with merchandise sales, keeps the shop organized, and ensures a smooth operation of tennis activities. When the Shop Manager is unavailable, the Desk Staff oversees reservations, handles phone inquiries, and manages sales transactions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:

Greets and assists members and guests with tennis merchandise purchases, court reservations, and other inquiries.

Accurately records and manages court reservations, updates sign-up sheets, and assists members in finding suitable playing partners. Maintains organized and up-to-date records of court times and player schedules.

Provides towels, cups, and ice to ensure member and guest comfort during their tennis experience.

Promotes and sells tennis shop merchandise, including clothing, accessories, and equipment.

Manages stringing services for rackets.

Restocks merchandise as needed and ensures displays are updated and in order.

Takes over the reservation and sales desk when the Shop Manager is absent, answering phone calls, processing sales, and recording charge tickets.

Ensures the shop and storage areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-organized.

Addresses any concerns or complaints from members or guests, and promptly reports them to the Tennis Shop Manager for resolution.

Attends staff meetings to stay informed of Club events and updates.

Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

Ability to work cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

Must be organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.

Certification in the American Red Cross lifesaving as well as how to operate an AED or automated external defibrillator is preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of time standing, walking stairs, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling and reaching.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times, with or without accommodation.
