Position Summary:The Crewing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating vessel crew assignments, scheduling crew changes, and ensuring that all personnel certifications and training remain current. This position works closely with operations, HR, and vessel management to support staffing needs for tugs and barges while maintaining compliance with USCG and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate crew changes and rotations in alignment with vessel schedules and operational needs.
- Maintain an accurate crewing matrix and personnel database.
- Verify mariner credentials, licenses, and required training prior to dispatch.
- Communicate with employees regarding assignments, travel logistics, and time off.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll to ensure accurate onboarding, evaluations, and pay updates.
- Assist with recruiting and hiring new vessel crew members as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Subchapter M, and other maritime regulations.
- Support emergency crew replacements or schedule adjustments as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in crewing, dispatch, or maritime personnel coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and database systems (experience with HRIS or scheduling tools a plus).
- Knowledge of USCG licensing and maritime regulations helpful.
