Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced tax leader and strategic advisor to guide both clients and internal teams while helping drive the growth and success of the firm. This role combines deep technical tax expertise with leadership, business development, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor and develop staff, and collaborate across accounting, tax, and financial planning teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and review complex tax engagements for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates
- Serve as a strategic advisor by identifying tax planning opportunities and helping clients make informed financial decisions
- Collaborate with accounting and financial planning professionals to provide integrated client solutions
- Oversee tax operations, quality standards, workflow management, and staff coordination
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members through training, feedback, and technical guidance
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities through networking, referrals, and relationship building
- Manage workload distribution, project deadlines, and office operations
- Represent clients before tax authorities regarding audits, notices, and compliance matters
- Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and emerging planning opportunities
- Support leadership initiatives and contribute to firm-wide growth and collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- CPA or EA certification required (or pending with advanced related education)
- 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge of individual, business, trust, and estate taxation
- Strong understanding of GAAP, federal tax law, and multi-state tax regulations
- Proven experience managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and developing business opportunities
- Experience with tax software platforms such as CCH Axcess and Engagement preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- In-office with the flexibility to work remotely one to two days per week during non-peak seasons
Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
