As a traveler, you will bring your expertise in computed tomography (CT) and related modalities to support urgent care, emergency rooms, trauma centers, and specialized departments such as interventional radiology and nuclear medicine. Your proficiency in medical imaging, physiology, and radiation safety will ensure optimal patient outcomes while expanding your professional horizons.
Duties
- Perform high-quality CT scans and advanced imaging procedures including PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine studies.
- Operate complex medical equipment with precision, adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and aseptic techniques to protect patients and staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in urgent care, emergency rooms, Level I and Level II trauma centers, ensuring rapid diagnostic evaluation for critical patients.
- Assist in specialized procedures such as interventional radiology and diagnostic evaluations requiring detailed anatomy knowledge and physiology understanding.
- Maintain accurate documentation of imaging procedures, patient information, and equipment logs while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
- Educate patients about procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation during imaging processes.
- Stay adaptable by quickly integrating into new clinical environments while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
Experience
- Proven experience in diagnostic radiology with a focus on CT imaging within urgent care or emergency medicine settings.
- Prior work at Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable, demonstrating capability in managing complex trauma cases.
- Hands-on experience operating a variety of medical imaging equipment including PET scan machines, mammography units, DEXA scanners, fluoroscopy systems, and nuclear medicine devices.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety protocols essential for accurate diagnostics.
- Familiarity with implementing radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Experience performing diagnostic evaluations involving X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound (sonography), and other modalities is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.
Pay: $68.40 - $76.40 per hour
