Responsibilities
- Provide expert hair styling, coloring, and haircutting services tailored to each client’s preferences and features
- Perform specialized treatments such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application to enhance client looks
- Utilize salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales tracking
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly sterilizing tools and ensuring a clean work environment in compliance with health regulations
- Offer professional advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail upselling opportunities to boost sales
- Manage front desk duties including greeting clients, checking in appointments, and handling retail transactions with retail math proficiency
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques and providing constructive feedback to foster a collaborative team atmosphere
Skills
- Extensive experience working in the beauty industry with a strong foundation in cosmetology and barbering techniques
- Proficiency with salon software platforms such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management
- Skilled in hair coloring techniques based on color theory principles to achieve vibrant or subtle results
- Expertise in hair styling including cutting, blowouts, braiding, and special occasion styles
- Knowledge of sanitation practices essential for maintaining a safe salon environment
- Ability to perform hair threading and other grooming services with precision and care
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members while providing outstanding customer service
- Strong retail sales skills with an aptitude for upselling products like hair care items, styling tools, and cosmetics
- Experience working with diverse clientele requiring personalized service approaches
- Ability to mentor new staff members and contribute positively to store management efforts
