Peters of Nashua is a fourth-generation, family-owned automotive group operating Honda and Nissan franchises, and the Peters Bump Clinic collision center. This is a rare opportunity to own accounting operations inside a stable, well established dealer group with a welcoming culture that is actively becoming more sophisticated through technology investments.
The Role
As Accounting Manager, you'll run the day-to-day of our dealership office and own the integrity of our books across all business units. You'll lead a small accounting team, partner closely with the Controller and CFO on process improvement and automation, and serve as the operational backbone of the monthly close. This is a hands-on leadership role, you'll be in the schedules, in the reconciliations, and in the details, while also mentoring staff and pushing the function forward.
What You'll Own

Daily DMS accounting operations across Honda, Nissan, and the Bump Clinic

Monthly close and timely submission of manufacturer financial statements

Floor plan reconciliation and management of floor plan activity

Full schedule maintenance, keeping every sub-ledger clean, current, and reconciled

F&I product and chargeback accounting

Bank reconciliations and general ledger integrity

Supervision and development of A/P, A/R, and accountants

Documentation of accounting procedures

Partnership with the Controller and CFO on financial reporting, automation projects, and process redesign
What You Bring
Required
-
Retail automotive dealership accounting experience is a must — 5+ years preferred, with meaningful time spent in a dealership office environment

Proven track record managing or leading within a multi-rooftop or multi-department accounting office

Command of dealership-specific accounting: floor plan, factory statements, F&I, warranty claims, and deep schedule work

Strong Excel skills and a fundamentally analytical mindset desired

Leadership experience: you've supervised, developed, and held an accounting team accountable

Discretion and high integrity with confidential financial information

CDK Global DMS experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Exposure to multi-franchise operations, collision center accounting, or used vehicle acquisition channels

Experience with modern dealership technology stacks (CRM, floor plan portals, reinsurance platforms)

Demonstrated appetite for process improvement and automation, not just keeping the books, but making them run better
