American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and remote telemetry monitoring experience.

Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
-
Specialized patient population includes stroke (neuro) patients alongside a variety of patients with multiple co-morbidities

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6

Procedures include: remote telemetry monitoring, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, CVA care, nasal cannula management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac

Epic EMR required

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Every other weekend required; holidays as needed

Floating is required — travelers may be floated between all health system facilities

Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred

Experience with feeding tube care and management required
-
Experience with port access, blood product administration, central/peripheral line and PICC line management, and IV starts required
-
Experience working at a 1:5–1:6 patient ratio required

Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration
-
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
