Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support our Materials Control Laboratory, performing metallurgical testing and evaluations on aerospace components. This role focuses on sample preparation, analysis, and documentation to ensure compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform metallographic sample preparation, testing, and evaluations
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and procedures to determine testing requirements
- Analyze manufacturing processes including heat treating and coatings
- Document results and maintain accurate lab records and reports
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams on material-related issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of relevant lab or manufacturing experience
Preferred:
- Experience with metallurgical testing and microscopy (SEM/EDS a plus)
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes (machining, coatings, etc.)
- Familiarity with AS9100 and quality systems
- Experience with NX, Teamcenter, Solumina, or SAP
- Strong computer and problem-solving skills
