Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. You will manage reservations, greet guests with enthusiasm, and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently. This is a tipped position, and requires great teamwork and communication. We are known for our fast, friendly and welcoming service and we are looking for someone who can multitask and assist guests in a warm and inviting manner.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems to schedule and confirm bookings accurately
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest comfort
- Answer incoming phone calls with courtesy, providing information about wait times and reservation details
- Taking to go orders
- Bussing tables
- Assisting service staff
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times effectively to guests
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and provide information about menu items when needed
- Support the front-of-house team by ensuring smooth flow of guest seating and timely table turnover
Requirements
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and welcoming demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Toast or Aloha
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and guest billing procedures
- Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Previous experience with hotel or restaurant operations is a plus
