Can earn $25 an hour if achieving production monthly.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to accurately bend sheet metal components according to engineering specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure high-quality production standards. The Press Brake Operator plays a vital role in delivering precise parts for various manufacturing projects, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our operations.
Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal with precision according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine bending angles, dimensions, and tooling requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling and adjust machine parameters to achieve desired results.
- Perform CNC programming for automated bending operations when applicable.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed during all operations.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, or additional machining as needed.
- Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts or cranes for material handling when necessary.
- Document production data accurately and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions promptly.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines with experience in CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, and other fabrication equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes and tooling setup.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and quality inspection tools.
- Familiarity with CNC programming and operation for automated bending tasks.
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties and fabrication techniques including welding, assembly, and tooling adjustments.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery safely when required.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control standards in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
