Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, and electrical components.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems effectively.
- Service and repair ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features such as lane assist, collision avoidance, and parking sensors.
- Execute wheel alignments, brake repairs, diesel engine repairs, and engine overhauls with precision.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools safely and efficiently.
- Interpret vehicle schematics to facilitate precise repairs on GM vehicles and other makes/models.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid replacements, and inspections.
- Diagnose issues related to vehicle electrical systems including batteries, starters, alternators, and wiring harnesses.
- Assist with auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and parts requirements.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced to ensure transparency and quality control.
- Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized workspace adhering to safety standards at all times.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for precise troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration and diagnostics is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including alignments and service inspections.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus for assessing repair costs accurately.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or other major brands enhances your versatility as an automotive technician.
