Lakeside High School is seeking a highly motivated and innovative educator to join our Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) program, with a strong emphasis in Foods, Culinary Arts, and Restaurant Management. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about preparing students for careers in the culinary and hospitality industries through engaging, hands-on instruction and real-world learning experiences.
The successful candidate will play a key role in continuing to grow and strengthen Lakeside’s Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management program while helping students develop both technical skills and career-ready habits for success beyond high school.

Provide instruction in Family & Consumer Sciences courses with an emphasis in Foods, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, and Restaurant Management

Develop and implement engaging, hands-on, industry-relevant lessons aligned to Arkansas state standards

Provide students with opportunities to develop culinary techniques, food safety knowledge, kitchen management skills, and hospitality experience

Strengthen and expand the Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management program

Maintain an organized, safe, and professional culinary lab environment

Support students in completing a full program sequence and earning industry-relevant experiences

Build partnerships with local restaurants, businesses, industry professionals, and postsecondary institutions

Utilize data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes

Collaborate with staff to ensure program alignment and quality instruction

Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development

Valid Arkansas teaching license in Family & Consumer Sciences or an approved CTE area (or ability to obtain licensure)

Strong classroom management and instructional skills

Knowledge of culinary arts, food preparation, nutrition, sanitation, and restaurant operations

Effective communication and collaboration skills

Ability to connect instruction to real-world culinary and hospitality applications

Experience developing or expanding CTE/FACS programs preferred

Willingness to sponsor or support student organizations preferred
