Compensation: Base Salary: $180k-$210k
Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Family Office to lead the strategic, administrative, and financial stewardship of a prominent single-family office serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI). Operating as a key trusted advisor, this senior leader will oversee all day-to-day family office operations while aligning long-term financial structures with the family's legacy, philanthropic goals, and growth objectives.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across integrated wealth management, trust administration, tax planning, and operational governance. In this role, you will lead internal teams and harmonize the work of external fiduciaries, CPAs, investment managers, and legal counsel to maintain peak efficiency, total confidentiality, and rigorous risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting: Direct cash flow management, budgeting, accounting, and internal controls. Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, net worth tracking, and custom executive reporting for family principals.
Tax Planning & Compliance: Oversee complex multi-jurisdictional tax strategies, including the review and filing of individual (Form 1040), corporate, partnership, trust, and estate returns alongside external tax advisors.
Trust & Estate Governance: Coordinate with trustees and estate counsel to manage trust administration, execute distribution strategies, and uphold overall estate plans.
Investment Oversight: Manage administrative operations for diverse asset classes and interface with external portfolio managers to monitor asset allocation, risk controls, and performance.
Advisor Ecosystem Management: Serve as the primary liaison between the family and external service providers, including custodians, attorneys, insurance brokers, and banking partners.
Team Leadership & Strategy: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operational team. Oversee family philanthropic foundations, grant-making workflows, and long-term risk management policies.
Qualifications
Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (MBA, JD, or advanced degree preferred);
Experience: 8+ years of progressive executive experience within a single-family office, multi-family office, or UHNW private wealth management environment.
Technical Mastery: Expertise in GAAP, financial controls, consolidated net worth reporting, and advanced family office software/Excel platforms.
Regulatory Expertise: Deep practical background in trust/estate administration, complex tax filing oversight, and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
Leadership Traits: Unquestioned integrity, emotional intelligence, and high discretion when advising family members and managing external stakeholders.
