Job Goals/Key Responsibilities:
- Preventative Counseling: Deliver classroom guidance lessons on topics such as social-emotional learning (SEL), conflict resolution, and bullying prevention.
- Direct Student Support: Provide individual and small-group counseling for behavioral, social-emotional, and academic needs.
- Academic Support: Collaborate on MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) teams, monitor student progress, and assist with 504 plans and IEP support.
- Crisis Response: Act as a first responder for student emotional crises and safety concerns.
- Collaboration: Partner with parents, teachers, and administration to create a positive school climate and connect families with community resources.
Career Education: Introduce career exploration in line with Michigan career pathways.
