American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neurosciences (Neuro/Stroke) unit position requiring at least one year of RN experience and active RN licensure for a 26-week night shift contract in Oklahoma City, OK.

Hospital-based Neurosciences unit serving stroke, neuro, orthopedic, and spine patients

Designated comprehensive stroke center

Patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down patients and 5:1 for all other patients

Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

May be required to precept new staff and work in a virtual care room

26-week contract

Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include assessing and managing an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and educating patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures

Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate

BSN is preferred but not required

Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for a new contract
