Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to lead our volunteer engagement efforts. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, families, and community members through effective volunteer management, training, and outreach.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers through community engagement and campus recruitment strategies.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments to ensure optimal support for patients and staff.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs utilizing social work principles, Microsoft Office tools, and social media management to enhance volunteer preparedness.
- Supervise volunteer activities, providing ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to foster a motivated team.
- Manage volunteer database records using Salesforce or Raiser's Edge for accurate tracking and reporting.
- Organize community engagement initiatives to promote awareness of hospice services and volunteer opportunities.
- Facilitate public speaking engagements and presentations to recruit volunteers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Requirements
- Proven experience in volunteer management, team leadership, or supervising roles within healthcare or community organizations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills for training materials, reports, and outreach content.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or Raiser's Edge is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and bilingual skills are a plus.
- Experience in social media management, community engagement, or campus recruitment is preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers through public speaking and customer service excellence.
