This is a school year position consisting of five, six (6) hour days (7:00am - 1:00pm). Salary shall be set in accordance with the contract between the Middleborough Public Schools and the Middleborough Education Association Inc., Cafeteria Workers. QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to work independently.2.Ability to perform heavy lifting, and operate a variety of kitchen equipment.3.Knowledge of sanitation and proper food handling procedures.4.Ability to communicate effectively with staff and student population.5.Ability to operate a variety of kitchen equipment.6.Willingness to learn operation of computerized point of sale (POS) system.7.Function and catering experience preferred.8.ServSafe Certification preferred.9.High School diploma or equivalent required.10.Experience or training in institutional (preferably school) food service.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
