Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling in accordance with safety and sanitation standards
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism and a friendly attitude, ensuring timely and courteous service
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients and assisting culinary staff in executing daily menus
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Help with catering events or special meal services, ensuring quality presentation and service excellence
- Follow proper knife skills and cooking techniques to assist in food preparation tasks
- Support dietary department staff by organizing supplies and assisting with inventory management
Skills
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred, with knowledge of food handling procedures
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques in a restaurant or healthcare setting
- Experience in fine dining or food service environments that emphasize quality presentation and customer satisfaction
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary techniques for meal prep and food presentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and serving residents with care
