The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking a School Engagement Coordinator with our MiCloud team in Portage, MI. This role is open to candidates working remotely.
Summary:
The School Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary relationship manager between MiCloud and Michigan K-12 school districts. This role is responsible for building and maintaining trusted partnerships with district technology leaders, helping them understand available MiCloud services, grant opportunities, and cloud modernization initiatives. The School Engagement Coordinator works closely with districts to assess their technology environments, identify challenges and opportunities, and connect them with the appropriate MiCloud technical resources and services.
This position combines elements of customer success, technical account management, outreach, and strategic planning. Success is measured by the strength of district relationships, increased awareness and adoption of MiCloud services, and helping schools successfully leverage cloud technologies to improve security, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
District Engagement & Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Michigan K-12 school districts.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with district technology leaders, administrators, and key stakeholders.

Conduct regular meetings with districts to understand their technology environments, strategic priorities, and operational challenges.

Maintain ongoing communication to ensure districts remain informed of new MiCloud programs, services, and opportunities.
Outreach & Awareness
-
Proactively engage school districts that are not currently participating in MiCloud services.

Educate district leaders on MiCloud's mission, available services, and statewide initiatives.

Present information to school districts through virtual meetings, onsite visits, workshops, and conferences.

Promote awareness of grant-funded and subscription-based services available through MiCloud.
Grant & Program Guidance

Help districts understand available grant opportunities, eligibility requirements, funding timelines, and program expectations.

Explain grant-funded professional services and how districts can maximize available resources.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure districts receive accurate and timely information regarding grant participation.
Needs Assessment & Solution Alignment

Develop a strong understanding of each district's infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity posture, disaster recovery capabilities, and long-term technology goals.

Identify opportunities where MiCloud services can improve reliability, security, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with MiCloud architects, engineers, and project managers to develop recommendations tailored to district needs.

Help coordinate introductions and project planning between districts and MiCloud technical staff.
Customer Success

Monitor district satisfaction and proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.

Coordinate follow-up activities after projects and engagements.

Help remove barriers that may prevent districts from successfully adopting MiCloud services.

Advocate internally on behalf of participating districts.
Collaboration

Work closely with technical, project management, marketing, and leadership teams.

Maintain accurate records of district interactions and engagement activities.

Assist with outreach campaigns, events, webinars, and statewide conferences.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience in customer success, account management, project coordination, education technology, IT consulting, or a related field.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and long-term professional relationships.

Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Willingness to travel throughout Michigan for district meetings and events.

Experience presenting to technical leadership or governing boards.

Preferred qualifications include experience working with K-12 schools, intermediate school districts, or higher education, familiarity with cloud computing concepts, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), knowledge of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, backup, virtualization, or infrastructure modernization.
Certificates, License, Registration:
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification is required. Candidates who do not possess the certification at the time of hire must obtain it within ninety (90) days of employment.
This is a 12-month calendar position and in job grade 18 with an salary rate of pay between $72,155 and $112,848.
