Rock of Ages has an opening for a Technician position to join our Precision Products team. Our craftsmen and craftswomen work with high-quality granite to create specialized products for our customers in the U.S. and abroad.
This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to contributing to the success of our team.
- Read customer provided prints and surface finish standards.
- Hand and machine lap surfaces to required tolerances.
- Assist in assembly of precision granite components.
- Build wooden crates as needed (use of saws and nail guns).
- Clean, inspect and package granite components and assemblies for shipping.
- Shipping of granite components and assemblies (gantry crane usage will be required).
- Use hand tools (grinders and pneumatic chisels).
- Follow the work standards, rules, methods, and procedures (quality, efficiency, and health & safety)
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
- Have an eye for detail.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently on their role while supporting the greater team.
- Experience in stone manufacturing is desirable but not required because WE WILL TRAIN YOU. A good attitude, respect, and work ethic is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, push and pull-on equipment, At all times the employee will be provided with the opportunity to use either a crane to lift loads or seek the assistance from another employee to complete a task that would otherwise exceed 50LBS.
- Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
- Hourly rate: $27 to $37 total compensation, depending on industry experience.
- Schedule 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM, four days per week, Monday through Thursday.
