Job Summary
We're looking for a dependable, part-time Street Sweeper Operator to join our team. You'll be responsible for operating a sweeping vehicle to clean streets, parking lots, construction sites, and road maintenance projects. We welcome both CDL and Non-CDL applicants — sweeping experience is a big plus, but we're open to training the right candidate with strong driving experience and a solid attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sweeping vehicle to clean streets, parking lots, and other assigned areas
- Ensure supplies and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the sweeper
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle
- Ensure the vehicle is operating correctly while on route
- Notify management of any maintenance concerns
- Report unsafe situations or service issues to management before attempting service
- Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings as required
- Work with management to improve route efficiency and flag on-road issues
- Complete daily maintenance and sweeping forms as required
- Submit daily time records as directed by management
- Notify management promptly of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with customers
- Complete required work orders and basic on-site customer interactions
- Learn basic mechanical skills related to sweepers to assist with ongoing vehicle maintenance
- Maintain attention to detail to avoid truck or property damage
Job Details
- Part-time position; hours depend on sweep schedule
- Pay: $20–$28/hour, depending on experience
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Overtime is not guaranteed and must be approved in advance
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL or Non-CDL both welcome)
- Accountable and dependable — shows up on time and follows through
- Solution-oriented — able to think on your feet and resolve issues on route
- Safety-focused, with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently
- Experience with mechanical broom/power street sweepers is a plus, but not required
- Ability to sit for extended periods and repeatedly enter/exit the vehicle cab; some lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
