Work Year: 12 months
Under supervision, perform routine cleaning work in school plants, and do related work as required on assigned shift.

Working from a prepared schedule: sweep, scrub, wax, and polish concrete, linoleum, tile, and wood floors.

Vacuum rugs and carpets in school plant offices and rooms.

Clean and dust walls, furniture, woodwork, and other equipment.

Pick up paper and other refuse on grounds and sweep walks and entrances.

Wash, scrub, and disinfect restrooms.

Clean windows, door glass, and drinking fountains; clean and polish metal works such as door panels and hand railings.

Empty and clean waste containers.

Assist in moving or rearranging chairs, tables, desks, furniture, and other equipment.

Replace light globes; maintain equipment used in the course of work.

Perform special custodial work upon request of faculty members.

Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards.

Assist in the complete cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings and grounds during summer vacation.

May perform routine groundskeeping duties.

May be required to fill in on day shift when day custodian is absent.

Perform other school district related duties as required or directed.

Prefer education equivalent to completion of 12th grade.

Prefer some experience in janitorial work.

Require ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill, safety, and efficiency.

Valid Oregon driver's license and safe vehicle operation record.

Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional relationships and work in collaboration with supervisors, co-workers, students, parents, and general public.

Ability to operate according to district policies and procedures.

Ability to perform essential functions of the position.
The position requires the physical and mental skills necessary to perform all essential functions, which may include standing, walking, sitting, driving, grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation, wrist twisting, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching above the shoulder. Environment includes both indoor and outdoor work.

Light Work: Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.

Medium Work: Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Heavy Work: Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Very Heavy Work: Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects of 50 pounds or more.
Fingerprinting Notice: Applicant agrees to assume cost and arrange for a fingerprint-based criminal records check upon offer of employment ($12.50 at Fieldprint office + $75 payroll deduction).
