Our client is a franchise owner for major fast-food restaurants. Their corporate office handles all payroll and accounting in-house. They are currently looking to add an
Accounting Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$24/hr - $26/hr
Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant role is a full-time, Monday through Friday position supporting the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include accounts payable, data entry, general ledger, paperless file maintenance, and future payroll duties.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant:
- Enter daily sales accurately via Excel workbook.
- Heavy Excel use for consolidation into accounting software program.
- Verify all bank activity weekly.
- Monitor store-level discrepancies.
- Process accounts payable invoicing weekly.
- Vendor file maintenance and computer filing.
- Navigate Vendor websites.
- GL entries for end of month, as assigned.
- Cross-train in Payroll, for future shared responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Office Outlook (Expert to intermediate).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with accounts payable.
- A minimum of 3 years of general Ledger experience and understanding.
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience is required.
- Knowledge of basic office duties.
- Must be driven to enter accurate data.
- Ability to work alone with task lists and step-by-step written instructions.
- Advanced problem-solving skills a must.
- Must enjoy working with numbers and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak accounting times.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Assistant:
- Sage 300 software experience is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
