Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mason to join our dynamic construction team in Penn Yan, NY. As a Mason, you will be instrumental in shaping durable, high-quality structures by working with various materials such as brick, stone, concrete, and stucco. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring safety, precision, and aesthetic excellence on every project. Duties
- Construct, repair, and restore structures using brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project specifications accurately
- Prepare surfaces by mixing and pouring concrete, forming concrete molds, and finishing surfaces with hand tools or power tools for a smooth finish
- Install rebar reinforcement within concrete forms to ensure structural integrity during construction or restoration projects
- Execute hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and decorative stonework to enhance outdoor spaces
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools safely for tasks like framing, demolition, or material transport
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, plasterers, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless workflow
Requirements
- Proven experience in masonry work on construction sites or renovation projects with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate execution of projects
- Skilled in concrete finishing techniques including pouring, troweling, caulking, and stucco application
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes to assist in project planning and material procurement
- Ability to operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels; power tools including saws and drills; and heavy equipment when necessary
- Familiarity with metal stud framing, tile laying, plastering, trim carpentry, roofing installation, welding, restoration work and metal stud framing techniques
- Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites to maintain a secure working environment
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working at heights or confined spaces as needed
