Position Summary
The Aerial Cable Helper / Groundman supports aerial cable technicians with material staging, traffic control, ground support, fiber handling, ladder or bucket-truck setup, site cleanup, and documentation.
Essential Responsibilities
· Stage cable reels, strand, hardware, cones, signs, pulling ropes, lashers, ladders, and hand tools.
· Support safe work-zone setup and watch for pedestrian, vehicle, overhead, and ground hazards.
· Assist with fiber handling to prevent kinking, excessive bending, abrasion, or cable damage.
· Maintain clear communication with technicians working aloft and follow ground-support instructions.
· Take photos, update simple production sheets, load and unload trucks, and complete cleanup after work.
· Follow PPE rules, stay clear of energized hazards, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
· Construction or telecom labor experience preferred.
· Ability to work outdoors, lift materials, stand and walk for long periods, and learn aerial construction standards.
· Prior traffic-control, telecom helper, or bucket-truck ground support experience is an advantage.
· Valid driver’s license preferred.

The employee must follow company safety policies, customer standards, OSHA requirements, applicable state and municipal rules, traffic-control instructions, and stop-work requirements. Field personnel must protect existing utilities, public property, private property, pedestrians, and the crew at all times. Quality expectations include accurate installation, clean restoration, timely photo documentation, and professional conduct with customers, inspectors, and the public.
