The Host/Hostess creates the first and last impression for every guest by greeting warmly, managing wait times, and ensuring a smooth, welcoming flow throughout the dining experience. This role sets the tone for hospitality through professionalism, accuracy, and calm coordination during high volume periods. Your ability to multitask, communicate clearly, and anticipate guest needs directly contributes to guest satisfaction and overall restaurant efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome each guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality as soon as they enter.
- Engage guests with friendly conversation, answer questions about the menu or restaurant, and provide an inviting first impression.
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and ensure they are comfortably seated.
- Manage reservations, waitlist, and seating chart accurately to balance server sections and optimize table turns.
- Quote accurate wait times and communicate updates promptly and professionally.
- Monitor table availability and coordinate with servers and bussers to seat guests efficiently.
- Notify servers of new tables and reply to any special requests or guest needs.
- Deliver food promptly and accurately to the correct tables, following seat numbers and presentation standards.
- Communicate dish names and descriptions clearly to guests during delivery.
- Assist servers by delivering beverages, grabbing extra items, or helping with guest requests when needed.
- Assist in coordinating large parties, special requests, and seating accommodations.
- Deliver menus, silverware, or beverages as needed to support the team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand, entry area, and lobby.
- Support bussers by resetting tables quickly and ensuring the dining room remains guest ready.
- Monitor the dining room environment, ensuring comfort, cleanliness, and a positive guest experience.
- Handle guest concerns with poise, empathy, and problem solving.
- Communicate delays, special circumstances, or operational challenges to management in real time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior host, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, guest focused attitude.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining composure in a fast paced environment.
- Confident using reservation systems, waitlist apps, POS systems, or handheld devices (training provided).
- Polished, professional presence with excellent hospitality instincts.
- Reliable, punctual, and team oriented with a positive attitude.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and high volume periods as needed.
Requirements and Certifications
- Food Handler Certificate or ability to obtain.
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Must pass required TSA security background check.
