Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, monitoring health, and offering emotional support. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory care. Prior experience in healthcare or caregiving is preferred, and candidates must demonstrate a strong sense of empathy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs as needed
- Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through specialized care techniques
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary restrictions
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
- Document patient care activities accurately and report any changes in condition to supervising staff
- Support clients with assisted living needs in both home and community environments
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures to ensure client safety at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide excellent senior or disability care
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
