Now Hiring: Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper
Full-Time | In-Office, Lake Charles, LA | Competitive Pay (DOE)
4C Resources, LLC is a growing oilfield services and safety company. We are looking for a sharp, dependable Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper to be the right hand of our operation, someone who keeps the books clean, keeps cash flowing, and keeps the office running. This is a true 50/50 role: half day-to-day accounting, half administrative support.
You will own the daily financial pulse of the business and work hand-in-hand with our outside accounting firm in handling the day-to-day so they can handle the higher-level accounting, tax, and financial work. Day-to-Day Accounting & Cash Flow (about half your time)
- Own accounts receivable: stay on top of every customer account, send invoices, track payments, and follow up persistently on outstanding balances to ensure steady, reliable cash flow.
- Investigate and resolve accounts payable and reconciliation questions — dig into discrepancies, match POs to invoices, and chase down answers until the numbers are right.
- Pull and prepare financial reports on demand (A/R aging, A/P aging, P&L snapshots, cash flow) for the owner and our accounting firm.
- Handle the daily financial fires — the questions, exceptions, and time-sensitive issues that come up throughout the day.
- Track purchase orders and ensure they are matched, documented, and accounted for.
- Maintain accurate, organized records in QuickBooks Online and assist with payroll prep and recordkeeping.
- Work hand-in-hand with our outside accounting firm — gathering documentation, answering their questions, and keeping our books clean so they can handle tax, financials, and close.
Administrative Support (about half your time)
- Manage and triage the company inbox; flag what needs the owner’s attention and handle routine correspondence.
- Coordinate schedules, appointments, and vendor follow-ups.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
- Support field operations with paperwork, documentation, and logistics coordination.
- Assist with vendor and customer communication and relationship management.
- Help prepare and organize documents, forms, and reports as needed.
- Provide general office support and take ownership of day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Handle light HR tasks such as new-hire paperwork, maintaining personnel files, and supporting onboarding.
- 2+ years of combined bookkeeping and administrative experience.
- Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable, including reconciliation and investigating discrepancies.
- Comfortable coordinating with an outside accounting firm and providing the documentation and answers they need.
- Comfortable with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general office software.
- Familiar with AI platforms and tools, and comfortable using them to work more efficiently.
- Familiar with purchase order systems and PO tracking and matching.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-starter who can prioritize, follow through, and work with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable, and trustworthy with sensitive financial information.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or accounting coursework a plus.
- Familiarity with Ramp, Microsoft office
- Payroll processing experience.
