Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive table service throughout their visit during morning and evening shifts
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely processing of sales transactions
- Upsell menu items including specialty cocktails, wines, spirits, and food offerings to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and sanitation in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change using POS systems
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area by bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and adhering to sanitation standards
- Utilize OpenTable or similar reservation platforms to manage guest seating efficiently and optimize table turnover
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine pairings, spirits, and menu items to elevate the guest experience
- Foster positive guest relations through friendly communication, attentive service, and prompt resolution of any concerns
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order entry and transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques including bartending skills is desirable
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and processing sales efficiently
- Experience with food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations
- Host/hostess or bussing experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for hospitality is essential
