Duties
- Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, limousines, and school buses on designated local routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, luggage handling, and addressing any inquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle inspections in compliance with state transportation regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients using GPS navigation systems and two-way radios to coordinate schedules and address route changes promptly.
- Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility needs or loading cargo safely into personal or client vehicles.
- Follow all safety protocols related to medical transportation, paratransit services, or chauffeur-driven experiences to deliver secure and reliable service.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or in similar passenger vehicle operations with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize efficiency and punctuality.
- Prior experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of state transportation regulations governing commercial driving, including licensing requirements for passenger vehicles such as bus or limousine licenses.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing luggage or mobility aids for passengers with special needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and coordination with team members.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety standards, and maintenance schedules to ensure vehicle reliability.
