Requires a high school diploma, Journeyman’s plumber license EE-98J is required and 4+ years of directly-related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained. Prior documented experience working with HVAC-R, plumbing, boiler operations, supply and exhaust fans, pumps, evaporative coolers, air filtration systems, gas fired heaters and minor electrical experience is strongly preferred.
Must have demonstrated skills in plumbing installation, maintenance and repair. Must have knowledge of steam, water and natural gas distribution, system maintenance and repair. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of plumbing problems. This position requires the ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the plumbing trade.
Must be able to complete associated paperwork and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Requires computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
A Post-offer background check and the ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) is required.
Position is Monday - Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00pm, with occasional on-call duties.
