Evening Counter Clerk

About the Role
We are a locally owned dry cleaning business looking for a dependable, customer-focused Evening Counter Clerk to join our team. This is a customer-facing role where first impressions matter. You'll be the last face our customers see before they leave and we want them walking out the door happy every single time.

What You'll Be Doing
- Greet and assist customers at the counter with a friendly, professional attitude
- Accept and tag incoming garments, checking for special instructions or damage
- Process customer pickups: locate orders, review tickets, and handle payment
- Answer phones and respond to customer questions about services, pricing, and turnaround times
- Balance the register and close out transactions at end of shift
- Ensure the front counter and waiting area are clean, neat, and organized
- Follow all closing procedures: secure the store, lock up merchandise, and complete end-of-day checklist
- Communicate any issues, damaged items, or customer concerns to management
Schedule
- Weekday evening shifts closing at 6:00 PM
- Saturday shifts closing at 3:00 PM (preferred availability)
- Start times are flexible and can be tailored to your availability. We'll discuss this during the interview

Requirements
- Must be available for consistent weekday evening shifts until 6:00 PM
- Saturday availability until 3:00 PM is strongly preferred
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and a POS system
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs
- Previous retail, customer service, or dry cleaning experience is a plus but not required
