As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Assistant Project Manager to help lead our projects to successful completion.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) works directly with the Senior Project Manager to oversee the daily operations of various construction projects. This role bridges the gap between the field and the office, requiring a professional who can handle technical project details, manage subcontractor relationships, and ensure that every job meets Benchmark’s high standards for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Assist in the management of project lifecycles from pre-construction through final punch-list and closeout.
- Subcontractor Management: Prequalify subcontractors, review bids, and manage on-site performance to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Financial Oversight: Assist in preparing project budgets, managing change orders, and reviewing monthly pay applications.
- Schedule Management: Update and maintain master project schedules to ensure timely delivery and proactive problem-solving.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits to verify that work aligns with architectural plans, engineering specifications, and Benchmark’s quality standards.
- RFI & Submittals: Oversee the technical submittal process and track Requests for Information (RFIs) to prevent project delays.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in construction project management or a related role within a General Contracting firm.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel. Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, STACK, or Bluebeam) is highly desired.
- Core Competencies: Strong leadership ability, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of Florida building codes and safety regulations.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate technical details to both field crews and executive stakeholders.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
